Thread: disable rear O2's

    Default disable rear O2's

    Hi Guys,

Up untill now I have never tuned a car myself, just used the flashscan V2 and efi live software to do data logging etc, and send those files over to a tuner who did the tuning for me.

I do however get the question very often if I cant turn of the check engine light in cars that have only had an exhaust upgrade. To me that sounds like a simple adjustment, but I don't know.

How would I be able to do this myself?

    Thanks in advance

You disable all the DTC's for the rear O2's (table C6001) and you disable the MIL for the same (C6002).

    Thank you for the info.

How do I get to the tables? Connect the car to my laptop -> start efi live tune tool, and than?

You will need to read the ECM or edit a copy of the tune if you have already have a copy of it. Go to Engine Diagnostics, there are two sections. One for DTC Enablers and another for DTC MILs. Then do a cal-flash only of the tune.

Yes, correct, connect laptop->V2->ECM, open V7 tunetool, go Flash->Read PCM Calibration... when it has finished reading, go File->Save As and save it with a filename.

    Then make your edits...

Then go File->Save As and you should see the filename with _nnnn appended (where nnnn is an incrementing number), and save it with this new filename.

Then Go Flash->Program PCM Calibration (i.e. a cal-only flash) (if it requires a VIN license follow what it says to assign one and then repeat Flash->Program PCM Calibration)... wait for it to finish, then follow the instruction regarding the ignition key (turn off for 15 seconds).

Ok I think I got it, I found both tables, and also how to set everything with O2 to "X not reported" and "no mil"

Quetion I have though is: do I also disable all the ones labeled HO2S?

Also I am unable to save the file, is it because I have to purchase this? http://www.efilive.com/licenses/tuni...tuning-option#
After I bought this I will only need VIN licenses in the future correct?

Actually, it is sufficient to set them in C6001 to Not-Reported", and there is no need to edit C6002.

Yes, any that mention "rear" O2 or HO2.

V7 tunetool should let you save the file, post a screenshot showing why it won't save...

do you have a FlashScan V2 with GM option...? If you do, then each time you flash a new ECM (previously unflashed by your V2) it requires a VIN license.

doesn't your V2 already have GM option (how else have you done E38 logging otherwise)...?

Yeah I can log ecm's no problem, and I can also flash them after buying the vin license.
