Default Calibration Comparisons - from different operating systems

I realise it is not possible to compare calibrations from different operating systems. I have just found out the hard way.

I am puzzled by what is meant by different OSes in this case. Can the PCM be reflashed with multiple OSes or does this mean the low level PCM OS config has been altered?

    Or something entirely different?

I jsut found this out the hard way too. This is a problem for me. I have a PCM from a 2002 GM truck with the LQ4 (low compression 6L engine) and have put an LQ9 engine in the truck. I need to get the engine tables from the LQ9 truck into the LQ4 PCM but don't know of an easy way of going about doing this....

The operating system is the program in the PCM. The program defines where each calibration map or value is stored in the PCM flash memory. Different operating systems store different calibration data in different places.
If you programmed the calibration data from a different OS into your PCM then the operating system program would not be able to find each calibration map/value. in the PCM memory.

With a full PCM reflash you can change the PCM's operating system to suit your application.

We will be releasing our full reflash capabilities for the Workshop version in a few weeks.

A number of customers with the Personal version also want to perform full reflash but do not want/need to purchase a Workshop version. So we will be releasing a third option called "Commercial" which will be a Personal version with full reflash capabilities.

We will offer the upgrade from Personal to Commercial via email - you will not need to return your cable to EFILive to have it upgraded.
It will cost somewhere between $200 - $400 to upgrade.

    Regards
    Paul

    Thanks,

Will the reflash enabled version of EFI also enable PCM OS modifications to suit customized applications?

Yes, but the bin file mods will need to be made by some other application (i.e. Hex workshop). The EFILive software does not have any facility for arbitrary modifications to the operating system.

    Paul,

Is that planned for future releases?
