Default Can a Scan Only V2 be used to Locked tunes and setup autocals?

Just checking as I need another one to stay plugged in for making files, will never need to flash a truck but would like it to be able to lock and do all the features of a full blown V2 minus the flashing.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mitch

You should consider a custom made V2 with the same license number as your current V2. That way it doesn't matter which device creates or locks the tune, both can unlock and lock. Contact sales at EFILive.com for more information.

The December public release also added options where FlashScans with duplicated licenses can be downgraded.

    Cheers

Was unaware I needed to custom order a V2 to match the license number, thought that maybe we could link them similar to what we do for a autocal.

I will send you guys an email right now to sort out the details.

    Thanks

FlashScan Serial # and License # typically always match (unless we build a custom unit), and cannot be changed in the field.

AutoCal Serial # and License # match until a link between FlashScan and AutoCal is made. In this state, the unit is unable to flash tunes (because there is no link to a FlashScan). When the link is made the license number is updated to the FlashScan V2 license # and permission to flash is granted (provided the tune file contains the same license number).

    Cheers

I have a slave unit, EFI Cloned my License number and I keep that V2 plugged in all day, the Workshop V2 stays on the desk.

Its good to have a backup for linking, etc, locking down files.

They got me two out and in the states in 2 days !!!

Awesome service from them as always
