Default 2008 with error code 0340.

I tried to flash the auto cal to the truck. Once it completely downloads it gives me the 0340 code. Any recommendations would love to get the truck going before the work week.

You most likely have a newer ECM that has the Anti Tuning Bootloader. Get with your tuner to get the patch file and their instructions for loading it. Once that patch is loaded, you can flash your truck with the tune file.

That's kinda what I was figuring. I went with hardway performance. I kinda figured it would have everything needed.

None of the 2008's shipped from the factory with the anti-tuning bootloader. That did not come in until mid 2009 so the ECM in your truck was likely replaced at some point with a newer ECM with the anti-tuning bootloader. Since the truck is a 2008, Hardway would have assumed that the patch was not necessary., unless you knew the ECM had been replaced and let them know that ahead of time.

The patch file is included with the EFI Live software install but I've never had to install one because I only do my own tuning. You can try following the instruction in the Cummins BootRSA Patch User Guide that is in the Document folder in the EFILIVE V8 folder on your computer. I'm not sure if the Patch file installed with the V8 software will work with an Autocal because of the link between the Autocal and Hardways V2. Hardway may have to send you a Patch file.

Yeah I didn't know anything about the anti tune stuff till yesterday. Nothing has been done to the truck by the dealer since I owned it but it must of had the ecm replaced at sometime before I had it. Not hardways fault at all just sucks the the truck is down. I have a newbie question for you. What's the difference between autocal and the v2?

In the simplest of terms, the V2 is for people who want to do their own tuning. The Autocal is a means for a tuner to economically be able to provide tunes to their customers remotely.

They both allow flashing tunes, data logging, and reading tunes but with a V2, you can also write your own tunes. The Autocal must be linked to a V2 to flash tunes and it can only flash tunes created by the V2 that is it linked to.
