Default thermocouple not working when in manifold

I have tried the few thermocouples that I have around and they all seem to work fine when hooked up to the flashscan box. BUT when they are put into the manifold or touched to a ground, the reading goes right to 32 degrees.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

That's what I was thinking, one side of the input to the thermocouple chip is connected to ground internally, it might be that one of the wires in the thermocouple is also connected to GND and if it is all the wrong way around it just shorts the input (don't worry it won't harm anything).

    Cheers,
    Ross

I read on here that the red goes to pin A so I wired it that way, so when it didn't work with it in the manifold I tried them the other way, and then continued to try 2 more thermocouples both ways. Seems wierd. Thanks for the help guys.

So all of them give the same failed result?

We sent a modified unit off to someone with the same problem, just waiting to hear back.

Yes, a modified cable, it's only a 3 minute job to do, but we would like to see it actually solves the issue first

What thermocouple/pyro gauge would be best to use with EFI Live. I would like the ability to run a gauge and feed EFI Live, is this possible? Vehicle is 2006 Duramax LLY. Thanks.
