Default April 2017, Beta Release 1

Please download and install both the V7.5 and V8 software packages.

    Download EFILive V7.5
    Download EFILive V8

    ATTENTION - BETA SOFTWARE RELEASE
We strongly recommend that you do not install the beta software over the top of your production systems. It is possible that the beta test software may fail and your production system may not be recoverable. lf you conduct a tuning business, please take the necessary precautions to protect your business. EFlLive recommends beta testers use a separate FlashScan V2 device (when installing the latest beta firmware) and only install the EFlLive beta test software on a separate PC, laptop or virtual machine.

    Release Notes:
    Key Features:
    • Calibration updates for E38, E78, E80, E84, E98 and T76 controllers.
    • Expanded filename template capabilities.
    • V7 folder settings are no longer reset to defaults during software installation.
    • Added option to search for tune files based on segment checksums.
    • Removed serial wideband 25AFR display limit.

    Version Numbers:
After installing this beta release you should have the following software, boot block, firmware versions installed:

    • EFILive V7 software: V7.5.10 Build 324 To view the installed version, select Help->About (in the V7 Scan or Tune software).
    • EFILive V8 software: V8.2.5 Build 317 To view the installed version, select Help->About (in the V8 Scan and Tune software).
    • Boot Block: V2.07.007 (Feb 07, 2014) To view/update the Boot Block, click the [Check Firmware] button in the V8 Scan and Tune software.
    • Firmware: V2.07.114 (Apr 02, 2017)To view/update the Firmware, click the [Check Firmware] button in the V8 Scan and Tune software.

    Known Issues:

    Issue 1:
If you are Black Box Logging PIDs from an ECM and TCM simultaneously and you have selected a PID from the transmission controller (TCM) that has an identically named PID in the engine controller (ECM), then when the log file is loaded back into the V8 software for viewing, that TCM PID will be displayed as if it originated from the ECM. The PID's data will have correctly been logged from the TCM, only its name will appear to indicate that it was logged from the ECM.
    Workaround:
    None.
It is a restriction of the *.efi (V7.5 log file format). That restriction will be removed and the TCM PIDs will display their true origin once the V8 scan tool software is available and fully integrated with the V8 tuning tool software.

    Issue 2:
When logging DMA PIDs (i.e. PIDs whose names end with "_M" or "_DMA"), if the ignition is switched off for an extended period while data logging but data logging is not terminated, then when the ignition is switched on again the data log automatically continues. However the DMA PIDs may no longer return valid data.
    Workaround:
EFILive recommends stopping the data log and restarting the data log when switching off the ignition for extended periods.

    Issue 3:
When using "Save As..." in the V7 scan tool or tune tool software the save file dialog box does not automatically open in the folder from which the file was originally loaded.
    Workaround:
Manually navigate to the required folder. Will be fixed in the next update.

    Issue 4:
Applying a bitmask to an 8, 16 or 32 bit signed value in a *.cax file calibration definition displays the unsigned value not the signed value.
    Workaround:
None. Will be fixed in the next update.

    Issue 5:
The FPRACOM and FPRADES PIDs are not being handled correctly by the V7 scan tool software. If you include those PIDs in a V7 data log it may appear that multiple PIDs in the log file are corrupt.
    Workaround:
Don't select those PIDs when logging LBZ/LMM using V7 or BBL.
If you already have a log file with those PIDs in it that appears to be corrupt, try opening the log file in V8 to automatically strip out those two PIDs.

    Issue 6:
The Cummins CMD/CME Fast CAN Mode options do not work. Flashing speeds are set to the slowest speed regardless of which setting you choose.
    Workaround:
None. Will be fixed in the next update.

    Issue 7:
The V8 scan tool pass through data logging for VPW based controllers (LS1, LB7, LLY etc) only records data from some PIDs - not all selected PIDs.
    Workaround:
Use the V7 pass through scan tool. Will be fixed in the next update.

When .cax data is defined as signed 32 bit and a bitmask is applied, it will only show the unsigned value in v7.5

This is an odd one, logging a LBZ last night. Log would not show correct A and MA for the Fuel Pressure Regulator, was only showing .64 A and 64 Ma. Everything else was reading correctly. Now when I open the log a day later it is crazy, data is all over the place. I have a screen shot attached, and the log. My BBX logs shows correct, but the 3 pass threw ones are the ones showing the erratic numbers.Click image for larger version.

I thought it was user error but too many logs have been corrupted

Very strange indeed. I also noticed that some pids were not available in V8 that are in V7.5. Fuel Regulator Voltage for one, was trying to figure out a fuel problem last night with a buddies truck, kinda hard when it wouldn't log correctly.

Remove the FRPACOM and FRPADES PIDs from the select PID list for the LBZ/LMM controllers. Some controllers return the data for those PIDs as 2 bytes, some controllers return the data from those PIDs as a single byte. When the data beiong returned doe snot match what the software expects the data in the log file gets offset by a single byte which makes all the other PIDs look like they are corrupt. You should be able to load the file into the V8 scan tool which will automatically remove those PIDs and should display the data correctly.

LBZ did open with V8......THANKS !!!

Trying to open a log from an LB7 in v7.5 in V8 caused my PC to lock up and the constant pop up message cannot be closed.

    Forced the software to close.

So there is some kind of import function error with the LB7 logs.........if you need the logs I can email them to you Paul to help out and get it resolved.

    Thanks !
