    Default DBC to DBW.

I have a 6.0L and a 4l80E that is going into a 49 Caddy and was wanting it to be a DBW instead of a DBC setup. I have the ecm that came with the engine and its a 12200411 ecm is it possible for it to be converted over to run a DBW system. I also have a DBW system that works with ecm part number 12586242. Is this possible? I have read that I need a TAC and TB off of a 99-2005 Corvette to work with the 12200411 ECM..

Thanks for any help on this.

No, dont need that specific TAC/TB for that PCM, it is a very universal 99-02 PCM. Pick your base OS and full flash it into the PCM. For DBC, grab an 02 truck or Camaro file with the OS # 12212156. Download the file, grab a truck file with the 80E segment, segment swap it in. Heck, if you dont care Camaro vs truck platform (wiring differences), just use this file from the DropBox file repository. It's a LQ4+4L80E already, just remove VATS and full flash it. 2002 Silverado LQ4 6.0 4L80E 12212156

If you want to use the Camaro platform instead of the truck, grab the 02 Camaro file and segment swap the 80E segment from the file above.

The Camaro won't have a DBW segment in it though. So just copy/paste truck DBW tables in?

Ah good point, glossed over that in my previous reply. The OP might have to start with a 03-07 LS1B 1MB PCM and match the OS with the TAC/pedal. That's probably the easiest way, downside is limited COS support but if it's a NA engine, shouldn't be much of an issue.

I've turned DBW on in a tune before, but it was from a Yukon and if equipped with traction control they had DBW from the factory, so not sure what non-visible things are populated vs a Camaro tune.

I was able to convert the harness and ecm over to a DBW with a doner TAC and pedal assembly. Now my biggest problem is at 85 percent throttle the Throttle blade snaps shut and you have to power cycle the ECM to get it to work again. Any Ideas on what might be happening?

Curious if you have found a solution to this issue yet. My throttle blade is also 100% open at around 75% of the total allowable gas pedal travel and exceeding this point puts the vehicle in limp mode.

I want to hear this as well. I've been tossing the idea about for my 1500.

What I finally found out was that if you use a blue/red connector ecm you had to use a TAC/Pedal assembly from a Corvette. The vetts have 2 sensors in the pedal assembly but the truck pedal assembly uses 3 sensors. So in essence a blue/red you use a TAC and pedal from a early model vette and if you use a blue/green ecm you use a TAC and pedal assembly from a truck.

I'm told the old 6.5 turbo diesel trucks from the 90s had an electronic pedal as well. Unsure about how it's put together, i.e. its willingness to play nice with an LS1 PCM of any kind or how many sensors it has. Something like that would definitely evade the Corvette tax.
