Default High spark and knock after COS3 install

    Hello,
Ok i must have missed something out or done something wrongCOS3Base_0000.ctzLS1B_0018.efi
I updated to COS3 and went for a run after following tutorial and logged.
The spark now has gone high (i have no MAF connected) and getting excessive knock and hope i havnt done any damage.
When i open the log with the tune and select a WOT area i revert back to the tune and its showing in the first column of the high spark table in the column 0.08 grams/cyl link....?
    Anyone any ideas?
    Regards
    Gavin

    Gav,

Out of Range calibration summary: 10:10:53 pm, Monday May 22, 2017

    EFILive Custom Calibrations
{A0001} Forced Octane Scaler Percentage, was out of range when loaded.
{A0002} Octane Scaler Limiter, was out of range when loaded.

Change those 2 tables to 99, save the tune, close it, re-open and change to 100 and save again (gets rid of the Out of Range warnings).

The spark linking will only show in the 0.08 Column until you amend your PID list to include GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA (and then re-log).

There's not "that" much knock and it may have been there previously....but at least COS3 allows the timing to be pulled now ;-) (don't worry too much, that's what it's designed to do)

    Still looking though

Your Spark tables are a bit higher than I would have expected, might be worth copying the Spark tables from the Z06 tune across to yours as a starting point, then go log (gently to start with ;-))

    Thanks for that Jim,
will try that but first i threw my old non COS operating system back in as didnt want to do any damage etc. Can i just full flash the cos3 above back in , in one go, or should i flash basic COS3 file in then the tune in two goes?

I would take the 27 degree part of the HO table and set those cells to 24 degrees.

    Also, do this:
    - set PE table B3618 to EQR 1.25 for boost,
    - set B3613 to 105kPa to enable PE for boost,
    - set B3647 cols 95-100kPa to EQR 1.18 and reslope with reset of table.
That means you'll be running OL in order to fuel from B3647.

Question: are you running boost...? (sorry if I don't remember, I look at too many things every day).

If you're not running boost, the do this:
    - set B3618 to EQR 1.175,
    - set B3613 to 40 kPa (or a suitable stock value),
    - set B3647 cols 95-100kPa to EQR 1.175 and blend with rest of table.

Also, set B4105 to 450 mV everywhere.

Question: your FPR is not manifold referenced, correct...?

Ah, I see in the second tune file that those cells have been pulled down, this is good.

    Hi both,
Jim, have saved and removed out of range values.
Have copied high and low from z06 tune to cos3 tune.

Joe, i am in open loop(no o2 sensors) and SD and trying to VE tune as well.

Also, set B4105 to 450 mV everywhere.

Not sure of above, have already sloped b3647 down to 12.8 afr

    FPR not referenced.

    Thanks for help though.
