    Default E40 ECM E38 Software

Doing a swap into a 06 trailblazer, using a gen iv 58 tooth motor. Is it possible to write software to it that supports the 58 tooth crank to the it. So use the 2006 vette software (E38) on the trailblazer ecm (E40). I have the wiring harness, transcontroller and BCM all out of the 06 trailblazer already. Or should I just use the E40 and run the Lingenfelter Trigger Converter. I do have access to a Tech 2.

No, you'll need to either swap to an E67 and 07-09 TBSS OS, run the LPE box, or swap the crank/cam for 24x/1x.

Ok this is probably a stupid question, but with running different OS from a different ECM will I need to do some repining on the ECM connectors?

The only stupid question is the one not asked.

You will need to repin the 3 E40 connectors with 3 E67 connectors. You cannot plug the E40 connectors into the E67. You could also find an engine harness from an 07-09 TBSS and then unplug the ECM harness from the fusebox and plug the new one in. I believe the body connection is still different so regardless you have some repinning and new connector(s) to buy.

Funny you say that. I happen to have a 07 harness, ecm and tcm complete uncut in the garage. I will go that route then.

I did start to look at the fuse block connectors between the two and noticed there are a lot of pins that need to be swapped there as well. So I guess time to start pinning.

That's funny, yep I'd go that route and figure out what else needs to be swapped over. It might be easier to start with an 07 fuse box, know they're different 06 to 07 (and think 07-09 are the same or very similar).
