    Default What hardware/software do I need exactly?

    I have 4 personal project vehicles. All will run the 0411 (LS1b I believe) PCM (55 Belair, 56 Chevy Panel, 56 Chevy Truck, 66 Nova). I have 2 BBC, 1 SBC and one LS1. I will want to be able to read, write, and flash calibrations files. It would be nice to do this in real time - is there an auto tune feature? Which components do I need and what are the licensing requirements for the four vehicles? Will I be able to use their VINs in each tune? Tried reading about all of the products but it just all seems to sound the same after a while. I'm sure I could call Sales but I'd prefer to get more than one opinion. Thanks. -Bob

    Hi Bob,

    You will need this:
    - hardware: FSV2 with GM Tuning
    - software: V7 and V8 from here:July-2017-Beta-Release-5

    You will need a wideband.

    The "auto" tune you heard about is a handraulic procedure where you use the wideband to correct the VE and/or MAF tables (altho the scantool has features to make it easier/quicker).

    www.moates.net sells the Roadrunner...
    this is a 0411 PCM modified to allow real time tuning (on-the-fly, while PCM is running engine), (it interfaces to EFILive V7 tunetool via USB cable);
    as you make changes in the V7 tunetool, the engine immediately reacts to those changes;
    there is a mode where you can feed the scantool wideband correction data (from a calculated pid) back into the tunetool for real auto tune.
    I don't know if Craig Moates still sells these...
    see here: http://www.moates.net/roadrunner-ls1

    You will be able to write each vehicle's VIN to each PCM using the scantool
    (the VIN has to be the modern 17-digit VIN, so you have to add extra characters to bring it to 17 characters).

    FSV2 comes with 2 "VIN" licenses (actually they are PCM licenses)(each license is 1 PCM or 1 ECM and 1 TCM).

    Thank you - where do I purchase 2 additional licenses? Are they already on the FSV2 and "unlocked" with a key code or something similar?
