Default 2007 6l80e with later year engine?

I brought a 7CVA which was split from a crate motor.
    (LS2). Google search says its a 2007 6l80e.

I want to buy a 2nd hand L98 gen 4 but am worried about them linking. Do i need a 2007 l98 from a VE commodore or can i get higher years like 2013?

Can the 2013 pcm be flashed to a 2007 or the 6l80e be flashed to a 2013 ??

Appreciate any help. I will be using the loom that comes with the engine and do i need the bcm too?

    Thanks

you need to run compatible year os in both engine and trans. you cannot flash the e38 or t43 between years like the older ls1 controllers.

you can always change the ecu/tcm out on either.

    Thanks for the reply.
So ill have to learn but the e38 and t43 are both 6l80e tcms ? If so what years have the same model that can be flashed?
Like e38 is 2006-2009, 2010 to 20xx etc and same with the engine ecu, what years have the same internals. Is there any years where i have an advantage of getting a later model tcm or ecu

e38 ecu is only for engine, but it wont care what year the motor was built.
T43 tcm is in the trans, it can be swapped out too.

all you need to do is match the ecu/tcm years. so if you have an 07 tcm trans, get a hold of an 07/08 & below year ecu, if you have a 10+ ecu, then your gonna need to swap out the tcm for a later year.

    Thank you !

So with a 2007 tcm i need 2007 or 2008 ecu and flash it to 2007 (if 08) hp tuner or efi live better for 6l80e stuff ?

    If i buy a 2013 engine do i need a 2013 tcm or can i get a 2010+ tcm and flash it to 2013?
Next question is where is a gppd place to get tcms ?
