    Default Please help CALC.EQBEN_LS1 Pid

    Guys,

    Can someone help me create "Base Efficiency Numerator - External W02LAM1_LS1" ?

    I am doing AutoVE based on the latest write up.

    Thanks,

    Guys isn't CALC.EQBEN_LS1 same as CALC.WO2BEN since they use the same expression factor = {GM.EQIVRATIO}*{EXT.WO2LAM1} ?

    Never got my VE dialed right, also used CalcVet & CalcMaft with no luck either so returned back using AutoVE.

    I also suspect that there is something wrong with the Lm-2, I get crazy AFR swings jumping all around from 11-16 AFR.

    Vehicle is a 2003 Sierra w/LS1, 215/223 -112LSA and stock lq9 heads with truck manifold. Stock file and used only Spark tables from an Ls1 file.

    Thanks,

    Jay.

    Yes, use CALC.WO2BEN.

    I'm not sure what CALC.EQBEN_LS1 is or where it comes from.

    Post some logs of your LM-2.

    I will post it tomorrow since I don't have the log with me at the moment.

    By the way what's the difference between CALC.WO2BEN and CALC.BEN1 ?

    CALC.BEN1 = {EXT.WO2AFR1}/{GM.AFR}

    don't they serve the same purpose on Serial WB but using different expressions based on the log pids?

    BTW

    Hi Jay, no worries, take your time.

    By the way what's the difference between CALC.WO2BEN and CALC.BEN1 ?

    CALC.BEN1 = {EXT.WO2AFR1}/{GM.AFR}

    Yes, they server the same purpose, but with this difference:

    - CALC.WO2BEN is not dependent on stoich AFR (neither from the wideband, nor from the calibration);

    - CALC.BEN1 depends on two stoich AFR's: (a) the wideband's assumed stoich AFR (Innovate uses 14.7, AEM uses 14.5), and (b) the calibration's set stoich AFR (table B3601 typically set to 14.63 or 14.68); if both (a) and (b) are equal (which you can see they usually are not) then they cancel out and produces the same answer as CALC.WO2BEN.

    Joe,

    find the attached log & let me know what u think. (its all part throttle)

    I want to rule it out is it a Mechanical problem or is it me?

    I've heard bad things about LM2 Lately to.

    Thanks.

    WO2LAM1 and WO2AFR1 are really hard to read... it looks like the wideband is indicating rich on throttle opening...

    your wideband is not really showing any useful trend...

    sanity test, try this: enable CL and LTFT, and let's see what the wideband does (we expect it to hover right around stoich).

    on your LM-2:
    - did you do free-air calibration...?
    - did you do heater calibration...?

    do you have another LSU4.2 sensor to try...?

    Hi Joe

    Thanks for the reply

    I will definitely try the sanity test

    I have done free air calibration 3 months ago when I installed the wb, never heard about heater calibration though can u enlighten me more on this calibration ?

    Unfortunately I dont have another LSU4.2 sensor at this time but will try to borrow one or use another wb if the above didn’t work.

    heater calibration:
    - remove sensor from wideband controller,
    - power up controller, wait a few seconds, power off,
    - connect sensor to controller,
    - power up, wait 30 seconds to 2 minutes (the red LED indicates when done, I would have to look in the user manual).
