Having an issue with the flashscan v2 not seeing pcm post update. EFIlive screen stays blue with no text. Did the usb test in the tools option and says it's okay. Also re-checked updates and firmware. All says latest version.

Try this:
go Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->EFILive V8 USB Manager
and install the older USB driver.
I've since tried and successfully connected to another vehicle. Still having trouble connecting to the original vehicle with the e38 controller, also still have no text on flashscan v2. I Do have power to the obd port and can see data through an edge CTS.
Which other year/model/vehicle were you able to connect to...?
Is the screen blank all the time? Is it a blue FlashScan? If so maybe the LCD contrast setting is way off. You can change the contrast in the F4 Options -> F1 Setup -> F1 Edit Settings option.
It's the last setting, so if you can't see the screen, then after power up, just press F4, F1, F1, hold down the down arrow for a few seconds to allow it to scroll to the bottom, then hold the left (or right) arrow to alter the contrast.
If that does not work, then maybe the LCD screen is faulty.

The E38 is CAN based, the LLY is VPW based. It could be that the CAN transceiver chip has failed in FlashScan. That would mean you could still communicate with VPW based vehicles (mostly pre 2004) but not with CAN based vehicles (mostly 2004+).
The CAN transceiver can be replaced by SoCal Diesel (EFILive's repair center in the US). SoCal's contact details are available here: http://www.efilive.com/distributors

i Adjusted the contrast via the setting on the computer. Also took screen shots of the controller before and after pushing buttons to determine the LCD isn't working. Which I'm really not concerned with as long as my laptop works.
