    Default AEM 30-0300 for my application?

    Hey guys, quick question and sanity check before I pull the trigger. I've read thru all of the newer AEM widebands threads on here. LS1B, so no fast CANBUS logging

    Is 30-0300 the 'best' option for me?

    Is Analog output still the preferred method over serial? Threads seem to indicate these new x series gauges output analog at 500hz vs 10hz serial. And serial is limited to only tenth decimal place, ie 14.6, 14.7 step size.

    Is this still the case?

    Thanks guys. I currently have an Innovate LC-2 and purposely converted over to serial to get around voltage offset errors. I read the AEM has built in voltage compensate for analog outputs now?

    Yes, the AEM 30-03xx widebands have a fast analog update rate.

    I would recommend them; I have been to their facility in Hawthorne and I saw professionalism all around.

    The 30-0300 analog output is fast AND, it has active ground offset compensation ( The LC-2 is "single-ended" ). So, it is MUCH preferred over the serial output. Which is, as mentioned, only 10Hz and 3 decimal places ( xx.x )

    I have seen some tests where the analog output and the OBDII CANBus outputs are overlaid in a log. And, they are indistinguishable, up to the range limits.

    ( BTW: dr.mike did firmware work to make dual 03-0333/0334 work on the CAN bus with EFILive )

    So, I am a BIT biased, in favor of the CAN/OBDII method of wideband connection, where possible
    But, the 30-0300 analog output is VERY good.

    Wherever CAN bus can be used to read the AEM, it should be used; otherwise analog has to be used;

    AEM has fast updates on both.

    You have to use analog and install the the pid separately for BBL. serial will not work work on LS1B. The J1962 piggy back connector that comes with 30-0300 is for 2008 and up CAN BUS-OBDII.

    Yes, that is correct, the 30-03xx talks over the CAN bus to FSV2.
