Any guidlines on what type of EGT is norm/safe?

I seem to cruise at 1000+ and up to 1500 WOT

Where is the sensor located? That's a Deisel, correct?
Temps at what RPM, for how long, and at what load?

I don't know what would be considered 'normal', we are talking degF right?
Cat protection kick in at around 1500degF so for WOT that sounds about right.

    Cheers,

    Sorry for the delay

I'm running gas with thermocouple one inch from manifold

Cat protection makes sense. 1500F WOT 5200RPM 2 gear
Also seems close to danger point for pistons/heads etc
