Default V2 will not read CM2350A

Script exited with code $0290: Heavy duty protocol (J1939) not supported.

$0290 - Red FlashScan and AutoCal devices support the J1939 heavy duty protocol.
Please contact your dealer to obtain a red heavy duty FlashScan or AutoCal device.

    Does obtain mean purchase?

What type of vehicle are you trying to read? The V2 FlashScan only supports the Dodge/Ram Cummins vehicles. For any other Cummins ECM, you need to the red HD FlashScan unit.

Have you updated to the latest software? EFILive eliminated the need for the unlock cable on the 2013+ Dodge Cummins last year. Also note that the 2013+ Dodge Cummins ECM is a 3250B not a 2350A.

I just noticed that the title of the thread says you're trying to read the ECM. You cannot read out a 2010+ Dodge ECM.

    Three key points from above:
1 - The Dodge Ram uses the CM2350B and it cannot be read out via OBD-II.
2 - If you want to program it, EFILive can unlock the ECM for programming via OBD-II, no need to buy an unlock cable like the BullyDog.
3 - EFILive does not have emissions removal parameters for these vehicles.

With my 07 chassis cab I just plug in the V2, auto detect, edit parameters, and flash. The 13 will not auto detect, it has a red x over the controller image. With a script error yes I’m using the latest version 2.23

Well it depends, you said below that you've used it on your 07, so if that is the case you cannot return it. If this is a new unit then you need to talk to who you purchased it through and explain that it is not going to do what you hoped on your 2013 and could it be returned. Also, you really need to check if the Bully Dog can do what you want, as I mentioned in one of the other threads you've posted in I am sure they no longer do emissions removal with their tuners....pretty much like every company now.

See my point 1 on the previous page, it did auto detect the correct ECM type but you have a red x because the ECM cannot be read out, you need to obtain suitable stock tune to start your mods from.
