    Default Valet option

sorry for all the questions, just trying to get it all correct.

my silly question for today is, can I use Valet on the stock tune or am I forced to use a COS? my rig is a 1985 Elcamino, kind of a high theft rig, a will also be installing some sort of tracker in the car. but would like to incorporate Valet.

The ability to add a Valet switch to the LS1B PCM is only enabled with an EFILive Custom OS, so yes, have to use a COS. GM's factory OS does not have this code in it.

You'll need to make sure the base OS you use is setup for your wiring/vehicle config. The COS upgrade doc for the LS1 has a lot more information and detailed step-by-step how-to, including what to use for a switch.
