    Default March 2021, V8.3.5 Beta 7

NEW RELEASE CANDIDATE SOFTWARE IS NOW AVAILABLE. PLEASE SEE LATEST RC SOFTWARE FOR DOWNLOAD LINKS
    ATTENTION - BETA SOFTWARE RELEASE
We strongly recommend that you do not install the beta software over the top of your production systems. It is possible that the beta test software may fail and your production system may not be recoverable. lf you conduct a tuning business, please take the necessary precautions to protect your business. EFILive recommends beta testers use a separate FlashScan V3/V2 device (when installing the latest beta firmware) and only install the EFILive beta test software on a separate PC, laptop or virtual machine.

The current public release is available here.

    Attention:
V7.5 no longer supports installation to Windows XP or Windows Vista. This change is due to SHA1 having been deprecated by digital certificate authorities. More info on SHA1
    V7.5 and V8 are now only supported on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

    WARNING:
Due to the new security/encryption option in this release, all tune files saved using V7.5.34 or V8.3.5 of the software or V2.07.169 or V3.00.059 of the firmware will no longer be compatible with older versions of the V7 or V8 software. If you distribute tune files to other users (i.e. your customers), the recipients must be:

    • using version V7.5.34 or V8.3.5 or a later version of the software.
    • using version V2.07.169 or V3.00.059 or a later version of the firmware.

    Full Release Notes:

    Version Numbers:
After installing this beta release you should have the following software and firmware versions installed:

    • EFILive V7 software: V7.5.34 To view the installed version, select Help->About (in the V7 Scan or Tune software).
    • EFILive V8 software: V8.3.5 To view the installed version, select Help->About (in the V8 Scan and Tune software).
    • FlashScan/AutoCal V3 Firmware: V3.00.061 (Mar 14, 2021).
    • FlashScan/AutoCal V2 Firmware: V2.08.171 (Mar 17, 2021); Boot Block: V2.08.009 (Feb 27, 2021)

    Download here:

    Known Issues:
    Issue #1:
Importing JTAG E86B files may result in a Boot Software segment checksum error.
    Workaround:None.
Don't flash imported files with checksum errors. Don't use the EFILive software to correct checksum errors for the E86B imported files as that does not fix the underlying cause of the checksum error - it just masks the error(s) and causes additional problems.
We are working on a solution to that problem.

    Regards,
    The EFILive Team

I downloaded the latest BETA software and currently experiencing issues with the V7 software. I cannot read or write to the ECM/TCM. I confirmed I have the latest V7, V8, and associated firmware and bootblock. See screen captures below.

I use the V7 software everyday (I know I need to move to V8), and I'm getting the V7 error message below. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled, same issue.

    Anyone else experience this issue?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Can you please download and install V7 software again. Your firmware looks all good, I've tested V7 with that firmware without issue.
    Cheers

EFILive is currently looking for testers for V8 DVTs functions.

    V8 DVTs are available for LS1, E54, E60, E35, E37, E38, E40, E67, AL5 and T42 controllers.

If you would like to test, please update to Beta #7, then Contact Us via our ticketing system with your hardware details, software and firmware details and confirm your controller type for testing.

Our support staff with then provide instructions on how you can access the DVT features.

Remember, this is beta software, and may not perform as expected.

    Cheers

    Hi Cindy,

I re-downloaded the software and I still cannot use the V7 software to read or flash. The good news is that I can read and flash with V8 and edit with V7. So while V7 is not working completing, I'm still able to tune between the V7 and V8 tools.

Any ideas on what to try next?

Can you run the V7 Scan Tool, and log 2-3 seconds worth of data, then stop the log and save an error report file using the menu option: File->Generate Error Report.
Then save the report as a file and attach that file to this thread - or send it directly to me at paul@efilive.com
    Thanks

    Regards
    Paul
