Anyone have any luck with this? I have found myself to be in the same exact situation.

    cbabb,

What I have learned from this (mostly from Cougar281, who has been a great help) is that you do need a tech2, MDI or MDI2 to program the new module. Cougar281 was able to program a module that he got used and flash my tune into it. He couldn't program the one I bought because you need the vehicle present and we are a couple of states apart. If you are interested, I have found a source that will provide a module programmed to your VIN, PM me if you want to pursue that.

Thanks for the kind words - just to clarify, I could program the new TCM you have, just not DIRECTLY to your exact calibration for your truck using TIS2Web. The really old copy of TIS2000 that I have doesn't go too far onto the 2008 model year, and your trucks VIN wasn't present in it as its a tad too new. There may also be third party J2534 devices that would work with TIS2Web, but I can't personally confirm that.
