    Default What do I need?

Hello, it's my first day out here and it looks pretty darn good from what I see so far.

I've got a 1995 Chev Cavalier with a 2.3L and OBD 1 and would like to diagnose it with EFI Live V4. I should mention that this car has the 16 pin OBD 2 style plug under the dash, but, it is definately OBD 1.

What, specifically, do I need to purchase to get EFI Live V4 working on my USB only laptop?

You'll need to download the EFILive V4 evaluation software and eval license.
    http://www.efilive.com/download.aspx#downloads4

You'll need to get yourself an ALDL-USB cable from
    www.moates.net
    or
    www.akmcables.com

And check to see if your vehicle is supported on this page:
    http://www.efilive.com/overview_vehicleDef.htm

If it is not, we can help you get started building a data stream definition for your vehicle and if you complete it and make it available for download then you'll earn a free V4 Pro license worth $179.

    Regards

Thanks Blacky, I've got the program loaded on my laptop, I've got the cable but I don't have the data stream definition and it's not on the site. Trouble is that I haven't got a clue about how to build a data stream definition.

I will graciously accept your offer to help me build one.

Send an email to me (Paul) at support@efilive.com with the following info:
Vehicle year or manufacture, 8th digit/letter of VIN, engine size in liters, engine RPO code (it is probably LD2 or L40, but can you confirm which one?)

    Regards
    Paul
