The V8 software will work with both V2 and V3 devices.
The V7.5 software will only work with the V2 devices.

That is because the USB interface/drivers for V3 are very different to the USB interface/drivers for V2.
The V7.5 software could not be easily** retro-fitted with the USB interface for the V3 device.

**easily means not without many months of development. It was deemed not worth the effort since the V7.5 software is no longer actively supported or developed.

Just for my own interest, what benefit do you get using the V7.5 software over V8 - i.e. what can V7.5 do that V8 can't do?
If there's something that V7.5 can do that V8 can't do (or doesn't do as well as V7.5) then I'll try to get that functionality and/or use-ability into V8.

Paul, I thought of something in V7.5 that I do not see in the V8 software. Or perhaps I am not looking in the correct area?

In V7.5 when you open the file, It shows you the operating systems and check sums. But it also showed you the Engine Size and on the LS1 PCM the Transmission type since it also controlled that.
