Default 07 solstice e37-e38 OS change?

I’ve got a solstice project I’m dealing with and was poking around the engine bay harness and realized it used the E37 ECM. I’ve been looking at some of the harness pinouts for x1/x2. And realized they are relatively the same between the 37/38, looks
Like theoretically I can build the proper harness, flash the E37 with an OS for the V8 like a 2008 g8 that uses an E38 ecm, or plug in an e38 with with the proper V8 OS to get something to happen,

The question is, if I match the vin of the NEW OS (E37 orE38) what are the odds the BCM will still be able to communicate with it?

E37 and E38 are hardware incompatible. You cannot flash an E38 OS to E37 hardware, GM used similar case and connector layout for multiple ECM and PCMs but with completely different internals.

You'd need to go with the second route and determine with an E38, what OS would you need to use to have it communicate with the rest of your Solstice? I know there have been many V8 swaps over the years into these vehicles, however I don't know what OS was used. Hopefully someone who's done the swap can chime in!

Ok I was figuring the E37 was a long shot, and doing the E38 was going to be the way to go, I am working through getting the harness made up now and once that

The last Solstice I tuned with a V8 had an E67.

Yeah I have seen and heard most people mention the E67’s but this one is for sure an E37 (only 2 plugs on the ecm. The only thing I can think of is it’s because this car is a base model and the one you did was a GXP?

Oh, I apologize. It wasn't my car, I got called in to tune it. I don't know the history of the car, it had a pretty bad ass LS7 in it though

Interesting, wonder if there's a better E67 OS that plays nicely with the factory Solstice comm protocols. Or if it was a GMPP ECM?
