E98 Vats Relink, ECU Unlock

Got asked to look at an ecu yesterday that someone had bricked with alientech.

They flashed in a tune file & corrupted the VIN etc. long story short i put a spare one i had into the car, unlinked ecm via gm's techconnect but it would not relink.

I even tried the scan tool relearn and it gave an error straight away, so im guessing this is not functioning yet?

2nd question after finding the unlock code on bench, the v8 scantool doesn't seem to have a unlock function to put the seed/key combo back to stock, should this be working?

so i can read/write fine, can even use the efilocker feature, but as soon as i send a stock tune back into the ecu the seed/key combo changes to 90DA/0094.

is it possible to change the lock code to a matching stock algorithm so i can do a flash straight from tis2web/techconnect.
