Thread: quick gear change question

    Default quick gear change question

I just wanted to confirm something as I have had issues in the past with this.

    A4 F-body. gear change only (to 3.73's).

If I go to the speedometer tab; enter the new gear do I have to reenter the tire size? Also once that is changed you still have to tell it to recalculate the shift points....correct.

Can someone please confirm these steps?

    Thanks

    Howard

Enter new gear ratio only (unless tire size has also changed).

Click the recalculate button (circular arrows) to determine percentage change.

Click the adjust button to automatically make the changes to the shift and torque converter tables. A new window pops up and asks if you wish to continue. Only do this once!

Click the "save" button in the spedometer window to apply the changes to the cells below.

That's all from memory, but I'm pretty sure it's right.

Thanks for the clarification! It does get a bit confusing with all the steps. I know if you double click that last one all hell breaks loose!
