Default 2015-2019 HD 6l90e manual mode tuning

Has anyone been able to tune the manual mode in the T43 to actually perform like a manual transmission? I would like to buy a 15-19 Hd truck with the 6.0, put a turbo on it and be able to manually control the transmission with the buttons on the shifter.

I’ve driven a few of these trucks and manual mode only works as a gear limiting mode, so the transmission will shift as an auto below the selected gear, which I do not want.

I absolutely hate towing in a gas truck with an auto, they are constantly shifting, wasting fuel and annoying the hell out of me. I’ve driven manual Hd trucks my entire life and with the discontinuing of the manual in 2007 I’ve been stuck driving old trucks.

I don’t have one of these year trucks to read/tune yet, but before I buy one I would like to find out if I can tune it the way I want.

You can set your upshifts and downshifts along with TCC lock/unlock really agressive but it will never be a manual trans tho.
The 6L transmissions are really aggravating to tow with.

I build a bunch of Turbo Gas burners for towing with the 4L80 and its nice to set the cruise and the truck holds its speed locked in 4th gear.

So what you’re saying is, is even if I set the up shifts to 100% tps and the downshifts to 0% it will still shift up/down under load? Does tow haul mode take priority when tow and manual mode are both on?

And since you have knowledge on turbo truck towing, what kind of rpm range and psi cruising should I be looking for?
    The hardest towing trailer I have is a 10000lb toy hauler that’s about 11-12ft tall. 5th would be 2600rpm at 70 and 4th 3500rpm.

Ive never tried that but i can try it on my next truck to tune and see how that it goes.
6.0 with 8-12psi at 2000 rpms makes a good bit of torque. I try to keep it around there and never had a issue.
If your going to tow a lot be prepared to spend a dollar on a really good Intercooler and dont be scared to use Water/Meth injection to help keep it cooled at higher boost.
Of course more rpms means more power but more fuel consumption as well.
