Default p0342,0343 hard starting when codes cleared runs fine with cam sensor unplugged

    Hi gang ,
    Have a customer car come in (stock LS1 auto(with a P0342 and P0343 dtc
replaced cam sensor , still have the same error . Wierd thing is if clear the code the car will not start and sounds like its out of sync . if i disconnect cam sensor it starts instantly. if i log the cam hi/lo it is most definately seeing the cam sensor working. its like something is out of sync. the car is stock and as far as i know has just started throwing this code. its wierd that the codes seem to have a no signal for 5 seconds as the DTC trip but i can see the cam sensor working .
open to ideas before i dive down into the mechanical rabit hole
    thanks

finally got to the bottom of this after hours of diagnosis, the NEW cam sensor has the wrong damn polarity, thats why it was scanning as working but raising havoc on startup. Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Do you have a brand and part number of the sensor in question?
