    Default 2 OBDII Ports???

Ok, I have an Interceptor ScanGuage and EFILive I would like to be able to use them both at the same time. Would it work to get a OBDII port out of a junk car and put it next to my current port and splice in the necessary wires for the ScanGauge to work? Anyone see any problems with this? Would the two devices conflict with each other while trying to exchange data with the PCM? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

For analog that would work, but the data here is digital, and I have a strong suspicion you'd have a bunch of problems.
BTW, What's an Interceptor Scan Gauge?

The bus is designed for multiple nodes: ECM, BCM, ABS etc, the scan tool is just another node. Each node requires a different address. I presume you can't configure the address of the ScanGauge but you can change EFILive's - we did that so we could have Tech2 and EFILive hooked up at the same time.

In the Scan Tool's Properties window, change the Scan Tool ID to $F2. The most commonly used values in scan tools are $F1 anf $F0, so $F2 is probably a safe choice.

That should - prevent any bus clashes between the two tools.

However, depending on how the ScanGauge retrieves data it may or may not work. I think it would, because it only logs 2 parameters which says to me it is using generic scan mode.

You may find a bit of bus contention if EFILive is logging high speed data. Your best EFILive scan mode would probably be dynamic if you wanted to use both at the same time.

    Regards

It would be best to do a direct install and splice in.

Well, I saw one of these 3 or 4 months ago and I thought it was pretty good, however, I was told by one of the distributors they all had to be recalled?, anyone know anything about that?

    Cheers,
    Ross

Hummm... Hadn't heard anything about that. I bought this one about 2 months ago. It's the latest versions with the performance meter and the 2 analog inputs, which are nice, I curently am using one of them for my wideband, all though I found out that I have to disconnect the wire I feed it with, when I use the Flashscan, because when the ScanGauge is disconnected from the OBDII port, it back feeds 12v though the analog wire to the input on the Flashscan where I tied in to my wide band throwing it way off. I think a diode might fix that though.
