The tutorial says red connector- pin 56. My connectors are green and blue.Hopefully both aren't open at pin 56. Going to go have a look and see what's up.

Well, both connectors are open at pin 56. So which one is it?

Per the GM service manuals, you want pin 56 on the green connector.
Blue Connector:
56 WHT 1579 Fuel Temperature/Composition Signal (L59)
Green Connector:
56 -- -- Not Used
