Back up VE table

What would cause the back up ve table be used?

Running Speed Density

If your car is a 99+ then my recommendation would be to upgrade to the Commercial edition (if you don't have that already) and then upgrade your OS to an 01 or 02. These don't have the backup VE table.

I was wondering if maybe my truck had gone into back up mode for some odd reason. I didn't calbrate the back up ve table like I should have when the main ve was done.
