    Default 3rd forum down under

Petrol/Gas (whatever "Petrol" is ) says Gen III and is referring to the LS1 and LS6. Well, I don't know about anyone else but my LS1, and now my LS6, came in a Gen IV. Please don't confuse me. I'm old and I can confuse myself without help from you blokes.

Aw come on. What the heck is the Gen 3 and Gen 4 if it isn't the F-body connection. Might I suggest that you reconsider the name of the forums for those types of engines. 82-93 is a third gen.

    Sorry Elmer,
The names are based on the engines, not the bodies. We could have made forum names based on the controller names:
    P59, E40, E38, E35, T42, T43 and E67, now that would confuse everyone

    Regards

I see, ok, you're logic is cool. So, EFILive is sold and advertised for GEN 3 and GEN 4 engine applications and the car year, model, and names probably aren't mentioned.

Whatever makes sense to you guys is fine. I simply never refer to my car OR engine as a third gen.

    Elmer,

    According to GM engine literature:
    GEN III = LS1,LS6,...
    GEN IV = LS2,LS7,...

This is what GM is referring to their engines as.

And to confuse things properly, it has nothing to do with F-body or Y-body generation(s).
