    Default Hot start troubles

    Well, my little 408 is whooping some you know what, running tens, and is very driveable given my last round of tuning. BUT these freaking 42lbers are causing me some real pain on the hot start.

    The Vette will just not start when hot, just keeps on spinning, acting as if there is no spark or no fuel or too much fuel. It takes alot of cranking, say a full 2 minutes of it....you know...crank for about 10-sec, stop and again.

    When she fires up, there is a little black smoke...so I'm thinking rich. But I sure would expect alot more than there is coming out.

    Anyway, where would I adjust the cranking fuel with V7 ? Any suggested values?? Other areas I should look into?

    Thanks!

    Under Engine Calibration->Fuel->Cranking, look at:

    1. Clear flood enable to clear a flooded engine.
    2. Cranking fuel prime to set the cranking fuel (in grams or oz) based on engine temp.
    and possibly
    3. EQ Ratio when cranking. For a petrol engine, the EQ ratio is 1 at 14.7, less than one to indicate leaner than 14.7 and greater then 1 to indicate richer than 14.7.
