    Default Cold Engine Noise Reduction

Have you ever noticed how hesitant the LS2 engine is to rev smoothly past 2000-2500 rpm when it is not up to operating temperature? Having a look at the factory tune I can see why. GM have actually introduced Cold Engine Mechanical Noise reduction in the form of several tables under Engine>Spark>General. These pull as much as 16 degrees out of the advance curve !

I am careful not to thrash a cold engine but didn't like the way it felt when cold. As a test, I changed the max. reduction from 16 to 11 degrees on the weekend & the car feels better without any noticeable increase in noise.

    Cheers,

    Michael

It was in many of the LS1s as well doesnt make much difference (to noise) to just remove it all together and the car feels better. Interested to see what other people say.
