Yes I am sure mine has the flash chip, but have never implented it or flashed a bin to it.
Does this require the use of a license for the flash chip?

Mine is active and works fine. I have only had a couple of cars that I have needed to set it to none on.

Actually.. that could have been a problem i had with mine... that it didn't want to fire up.. but the car did fire up once... there were no anti theft codes present nor the security light was blinking so that was ruled out as the culprit... i wil lbe testing though this week... i got my new RR finally from craig (not because craig was slow but because I was slow sending mine back).

We played a bit yesterday and I changed my setting back t Class-2 just to see what happens. Well bugger me if the car didn't start right up

Tried a few other scenarios but were unable to come up with anything conclusive.

Any chance the PCM wire harness weren't 100% secured? You are using your torque wrench on them right?

Pretty happy that all was good connection wise. Would have been nice to have been that simple

After installation of my RR, I also had to change mine to none to get my car to start (2004 monaro). At key on, no fuel prime, nothing. After the car is running I can switch between "none" or "pwm" no worries but if I select class 2 the car dies. Did you do anything in particular Tordne to get class 2 working?
It's all good until it goes "Bang"

I didn't make any changes to the setting in real-time at all... I basically changed it back to Class-2 in my tune file and uploaded it to the RoadRunner, and to my surprise the car cranked straight away.

The problem is the VATS security codes must be written into flash, the routines in the PCM that do that are expecting to see flash memory, not RAM (like in RoadRunner). So a RoadRunner PCM will never be able to learn the Class2 VATS codes.
On vehicles that use PWM VATS, this is not an issue because there is no individual coding (PCM <> BCM).

Holden guys, although the PCM has anti-theft turned off, they key/BCM combination is still in place, so the vehicle is not vulnerable to theft, it still would not crank if hotwired.

    Cheers,
    Ross
