Is it possible to unlock or go into neutral on the 4L60 transmission when the DFCO activates?
Regards,
Neil.
If that where to happen, then the motor would stop spining and die.Originally Posted by neil

OK. Is it possible to keep the TCC locked as you decelerate to low speeds?
If so. What would be the consequence if any of this occurring?
Regards,
Neil.
I tried it, at least on my 94 LT1 (OBD1) and decel worked fine, but the transition from decel to accel when I had to get back on the gas was too rough. I can't make that transition smooth at all. Maybe the LS1/LS2 pcm's have that ability, but mine is much more straightforward and simple. I can't go below 43 mph with DFCO on in OD, below that it will come out. I do have it very smooth operation now, but I can't do a TCC locked up in decel smooth and what I feel is safe enough on the TCC clutch itself. I feel the load on the converter with it locked is too much. Maybe for a 4L80E, but not a 4L60E.
