05 PCM vs 01 PCM

Hi,
I know there are a few differences between these, is it possible to upgrade from an '01 to and '05 and would it have any benefits?

probably just a silly question, but something I was curious about!

I'm not sure the benefits would be worth the effort to upgrade. The '01 PCM's were a 512k and '05's are 1meg. I belive the biggest PITA to overcome would be the reluctor ring on the crank.

I'm sure others will chime in momentarily with more info.

No real benefit, the later PCM's had more code for refined Dual Fuel operation (normal v's E85). They also added more for cleaner emissions controls.

I wasnt sure if because they are newer they would somehow be beneficial over an older PCM.
