Default Question about open loop mode

I've heard (I think) about people tuning in open loop mode. Which, IIRC from my user manuals, means that the O2 sensors are not used, mostly during warm up times.

My question is. Can you tune solely in open loop mode, eliminating the O2's completely? This would allow you to run leaded race fuel at your leisure, correct?

Would you be required to go SD if you went this route?

Thanks for helping out the nOOb.

Yes, you could run OL all the time. I currently am with my truck.

You would not need to be in SD, although many people opt to go that route.

I run OLSD full time (for about 2 years now). Can't seem to get reliable response from my NB's to revert back to CL.

Me to, OLSD for 2 years! Last time I went CL it was a bit rough as well, maybe dead O2's. Not going to replace them of course. Can you turn them off, so you could say command 14.63:1 in B3647 and not be in Semi-Open Loop? Never thought about that before..

Ditto, OLSD... never have to think about replacing a failed O2/MAF sensor.
