Thread: 4cyl support?

  1. #1

    Default 4cyl support?

Noticed that the new Beta version has read select for some 4cyl PCM's. Anybody got a list of what GM 4cyl. cars used these two ecm's?

For vehicle support list, go to -
    http://198.208.187.182/internet/VehiclePartFits.jsp

    Part# - 12576162 , that is the smaller PCM
Part# - 16228016 and 9356249, that is the larger one that looks like an LS1 PCM.

As you can see, reading and programming is implemented in the software, cal files will be released over the next month or two.
If you do happen to read out any PCM's please send the files to us.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Ross, how do we "read out" a PCM?
Say I knew a dealership with unlimited access to OBDII and CAN cars....

    What do we do?

Also, how can we make it automatic, so it's not appearing that we are "messing" with anything? Can you get Paul to write a "grabber" that with one keystroke QUICKLY gets what is needed?

    Just wondering....

I think he means hook up EFILive to the car and use the tuning tool to read the stock calibration file like you would before you started tuning (except you cant tune it yet until they get the cal files).

Erik, that is correct, I was just hoping that people would read out some PCM's so we ensure support. The 4cyl stuff is very difficult to keep track of as there is no O.S number .
Whilst I am even surprised we are doing 4 cylinder support, it's very similar to the LL8 and doing bootloaders had to wait until V2 was done due to the same issue we had with V1 and the Vortec.
So yes, V2 will be required for th 4cyl.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Hey I tried to do a 2006 Chevy HHR with a 2.4l ecotech and it would read the computer but would not upload. Any future support with the four banggers would be very nice.
