    Default 95 camaro 3.4

ok im trying to scann my car for codes....im new at this and am reading like crazy....i have labtop, moates obd1/aldu1 combo....and dowloaded the free version of v4.....i used this method http://shbox.com/1/xraycable.jpg....to huck up the cable to the car.....since it has a obd2 connector and obd1 pcm....after many trys i got both chatter and interace to check out ok...however i dont understand how to get the trouble codes....and am pretty sure im doing something wrong because the mph keeps going up to 120 when im still in park....im still reading but if anyone can just break it down for me, or show me a thread, or even tell me what to do i would appreciate it...

Have you loaded in the correct vehicle data stream definition for your engine's controller.

    From this list here:
    http://www.efilive.com/overview_vehicleDef.htm

    the closest match would be:
    gm278.zip Auto
    or
    GM258_L32_Fbody.zip Manual

im using the second one you suggested since its exactly what i have...even the vin letter is correct plus mine is manuel ....ill try the other definition to see what happens and there is even a new file same as mine but for auto....

even though i got chatter and interface to connect do you think the way i hucked up the cable using only two wires could give me problems...im going to mess with it again ...

however is there a post where it shows an example on how to get the codes....because im doing searches but not getting much at all...thanks in advance.

In that datastream definition, the trouble codes are returned by mode $01, Table $02. That means you would need to select the macro: Engine Data, table $02 (DATADTC3). Once that is selected, clcik on the green button to retrieve the codes.

You should only need the two wires to connect as shown in the original image.

ok tried this and on the DTC(F10) section it shows

    77 EGR ERROR
    76 EGR ERROR
    75 EGR ERROR
    98 PCM INVALID

i might be wrong but i think all this was allready showing before i hucked up the labtop for the first time....or am i mistaking and these are my codes.

second when i start the car the dashboard section should match what my car is really at right?
