    Default Blown Header Gasket?

    Hi guys,

I have a friend of mine coming over that has an LS6 with heads and cam. He thinks he blew a header gasket and is throwing DTC codes. Any advice on how to best verify it is a blown header gasket?

I was thinking maybe the BIDI cylinder test?

    Thanks

You should also see some black soot where there's a leak.

Yep , can hear and or feel a leak , messed with headers for years .
Had to double the gaskets sometimes to get some of the old Hooker's to seal .

I found the GM stock steel manifold/header gaskets to work the best.
