    Default Any advantages of V1 over V2 at all?

    I am toying with the idea of buying the Workshop V1 package and then later upgrade to V2. Is there any reason I should NOT do this? Is there any advantages of the V1 over V2?

    Long term it would be nice to have a second cable interface.

    Thanks!

    For the moment, the only quasi advantge the V1 has is it's ability to stand alone datalog. Full support for the V2 is on it's way. I plan on getting a V2 when the full software support follows and I'll keep the V1 hardwired in my car.

    Is the speed for flashing faster with V2 or the same? Or is that VCM/PCM dependant?

    It seems to be [almost] the same speed;

    V2 will have standalone "blackbox" logging and flashing capabilities later this year, as Doc said (this includes reading writing files from/to SD memory card and/or internal flash memory).

    At the moment I use V1 for standalone BB logging (my daily commute, and flashing while I'm away from home)...
    and I use V2 for laptop-in-car-flashing/logging/bidirectional (in my driveway at home).

    V2 also supports later vehicle models.

    So no drawbacks to having V1 in the house too?

    No drawbacks...

    I bring V1 inside my house to my desktop and "unload" the log from it...
    or to my laptop if my Mrs is using the desktop.

    V1 workshops are no longer available from EFILive. You would have to purchase a V2 and then add streams.
