Dell and HP make good laptops, check out their websites and you can usually build a pretty decent system for a grand.

I don't know where you are, but you can get brand new decent $500 to $800 laptops in LA by looking at the Sunday Times advertising inserts.

Todays Frys add, Celron M 1.73Ghz, 512 MB 100GB HD DVD burner 15.4 screen, Vista, $499 after rebate. That and maybe a memory upgrade would be a perfect EFILive computer.

    You can see it at www.Frys.com , #: 5162176, but on-line it's $100 more.

Funny just purchased a Lenovo laptop at a local Staples for 432 to the door , just for EFILive and tuning .
Check around you can find good deals all the time , for most people I tell them to get a Dell or Gateway .
Because most people I know just know how to turn one on , customer support from a big company is the way for them to go .

Well, there's one POS ... neither the processor nor the memory will pass Vista's basic requirements ... this machine will be crawling ... and that before you even start any application ...

Yea, Im with you man, I tell people about Dell and HP b/c of their customer support, personally for me if there is anything but a huge hardware issue (blown mobo, DVD burner going nuts, etc) I will take care of it in a lot less time then sending it back to wherever to have them take 2+ weeks to fix something.
