Default Engine won't run longer than 1 sec

    2006 LBZ

When I start the engine it fires up fine and to the correct RPM (~800) but after one second of normal sounding running it cuts off. It does this consistently every time I try to start the engine. I have given it throttle and this did not help. I have primed the fuel until the pump is stiff.

Has anyone encountered this problem? I have ruled out the Anti-theft system because I disabled that with EFI Live.

Did you disable the anti-theft because of this problem? Is the engine in the stock vehicle?

I disabled the VATS and reflashed the ECU. Still behaved in the same way.

Maybe you should reflash the anti-theft back to stock and run a diagnostic on it to see the root cause. It might be an easy fix.

With VATS in effect it won't even start for 1 second. In addition it would display a P1631 code.

    Have you scanned for codes?

I think the tune needs some tweaking for your particular installation. I would start by making sure you are using a calibration for a manual trans.

If you would like to E-mail me the calibration, I'll take a look.

I have scanned for codes and didn't see anything pertaining to Disable fuel or anti-theft. I also watched the VATS PIDs while cranking and running for the 1 second and none of the VATS PIDs changed state.

It behaved this way with the stock ECU, with the ECU reflashed to disable VATS, reflashing the stock ECU back on.

I will post the current DTCs shortly and the state of the VATS.

Hopefully the new EFILive release will give us more control over the LBZ/LMM DTCs.

Best to start with a manual trans calibration.

In looking over what I currently have, I don't see a way to convert to a manual trans calibration.

I think the reason for the Fuel Pump Relay circuit DTC is the lack of the engine being installed in a vehicle and the fuel being supplied by an independent system. The engine is installed in a test cell and coupled to an engine dynamometer.

I noticed code P2510 was also set. Do you have the ignition relay installed as per the factory diagram?

I believe I have the ignition wires properly connected. I just got the BCM from the donor vehicle and need to figure out what wires need to be connected. I am hoping the lack of the BCM is the culprit. If you know what wires need to be connected, please advise.
