Default Question concerning Autotap/EFI live V5??

Hello, I have a Autotap model AT1 which includes the autotap software version 2.04, Palm Version 3.00 and has EFILive V5 version 5.26.8, build 454.I know this particular unit has Bi-directional controls, but what does this mean? I know you can make some changes, but once you disconnect the laptop from the car, the changes return to their normal parameters, correct? Can you make any permanent changes with this or is it just a diagnostic scanner and also just a program to make adjustments to see the effect on a dyno, etc.?

    Thanks
    -Jason

Bi di means that you can change things while the cable is plugged in to over ride the factory settings, but after it disconnects, it goes back to normal.
