    Default '98 LS1 Rev Limiter...

    Hey Guys,
Like the title says, I have a '98 Camaro automatic with a 382 cid engine. I have set my rev limiter to 7200 and the car is hitting the limiter at 6800. WTF! Am I over looking a table or something. I've changed all the rev limiter tables and it still does the same thing. Is there something up with the '98 OS causing this? If this is the case, can I update to a later OS? Any help is greatly appriciated!

    Thanks, Coleman

Not 100% but I'm pretty sure you could put an 0411 PCM in it from a 99+ vehicle.
Search for threads regarding the 98-01/02 PCM swaps.

Here's one which may be of interest.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
    DUCT TAPE.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Yea, if you have a little time and want to upgrade to a COS, check out ChipsByAl's awesome 98-> 02+ PCM tutorial.

What tranny are you running in this setup? What rear end, tire size? If you are running an electronic transmission and are trying to use EFI Live to control it, then you need to have the rpm and speed settings just right. If this is the case then it would seem that you need to lower your speed a few mph.

Seems from everything I've read here and on other forums, the 96-97 PCM is the red headed step child of PCM's....if so, the 98 is his twin brother!

I have a 98 C5 with an A4 and I have no problems with the rev limiters or the WOT shift points---If you have EFILIVE--send me your file and let me take a look---I have 50-100 hours of tuning into this car as I use it as a test vehicle and have taken it to the track many times tblu92@sbcglobal.net

I checked all the tables yall suggested, and still no change! Is this ECM not cappable of a reving higher than 6800 RPMs? Would a certain SES code be causing this problem? Maybe even a sensor or something like that?
