Default Guys who have done a T56 to 4L60E swap HELP!

    I'm tuning on a buddy's car, its a heads/cam LS1 swap in a RX7 using a 98 pcm..

We originally set the car up with a 6 speed, but he decided to go auto with it so I said no prob.. but now we are running into problems but i'm not sure its the pcm.. so I figured I would ask.

I took his file and swapped everything over with stock A4 98 F-body file, same OS. We throw the tune in and it won't shift out of first, but it will do in reverse, drive..etc.. and I notice VSS is showing 0. I'm figuring ok, need a new VSS sensor.. we throw a new sensor in and it still reads 0.

Am I missing something in the tune by chance, or could this be a wiring/mechanical problem?

Also, is there any easy way to adjust all the trans. settings by % with a 98 pcm with the speedo calc? The car has 26 inch tires and a 3.55 gear and the trans settings are all still stock. I guess I could use a 99 up file and adjust that and copy the tables over since they have diff ratio table right?

    The tun. file is attached.

I'm no Gynecologyst but I'll take a peek.

Load your tune and then load this one from the BIN repository for a stock 98 A4.

Use the EFIlive comparison tool (CTRL+F11)....Scroll down and check your DO404 .

    Hopefully this is the problem.

I just love some of the features that make this program worth way more than the price of a license.

    Good luck, John

Did you do a segment swap or just cut and paste?

you have to do a segment swap because I did what you did when I swapped on my c5 and had the same problems. You are going to have to buy more credits as well. Mine works great now though.

vxchev8, this is a 98 pcm unfortunately LOL!

It ended up being a problem with the wiring.. he rewired the VSS sensor again and now it reads mph and shifts just fine!

I'm glad thats all it was, looks like D0404 didn't matter after all by looking at the other parameters, and a segment swap wasn't necessary.

Thanks for the quick responses guys!

Glad to hear its working, now switch to a 01+ PCM and run the 02 OS on it! Then you can go with a COS if you ever need to, worth the price of a license and a junkyard PCM and an afternoon rewiring the PCM. Look into it, lots of guys swear by the PCM swap for 98.
