    Default EFILive V7.2.3 sneak preview

Here's the list of fixes and features that will make it into V7.2.3.
We anticipate V7.2.3 to be available as a pre-release version on May 31, 2005.

    Updates in EFILive_Tune.exe

    1. Fixed "Seg 8 out of range" error.
    2. VIN and BCC can now be changed in *.tun file.
    3. Custom OS is now only detected if OSID=Vx, where x is 0..9.
    4. Fixed up VIN display when VIN parts are unknown.
    5. Entire segments can be copied.
    6. Revert option to reload current file.
    7. Properties option to turn off search wrap prompt.
    8. Added calibration hotlinks to:
    - Comparison summary window
    - Modifications sumamry window
    - User comments
    - History tracking
    9. Added search option to User comments.
    10. Added "one-click" update from alternate calibration to current calibration.
    11. Included initial/basic set of 98 calibration definitions.

    Updates in EFILive_Scan.exe
    ---------------------------------------
    1. Fixed *.bmp;*.jpg dialog default for gauge backgrounds.
    2. Allowed gauge items (needles, tick marks and scale numbers) to be moved in relation to the gauge background image.
    3. Increased needle length and width limit to 500%
    4. Fixed 3 x connect/disconnect bug.
    5. Map cells can be hidden based on "low" cell count.
    6. Dashpages can now have a single background image.
    7. Dash gauges and status items can be made transparent to allow the background image to show through.

    Paul,

This looks really good. Would you elaborate on the basic calibration definitions for '98 PCM's please? Although it doesn't affect me personally, I'm sure that the '98 folks will be glad to here this news.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Whatever we can get done before the pre-release date.

We have started with the "Basic" group of cals, which will be followed by "Standard", then "Expert". I hope we can get all the "Basic" cals done in time for May 31.

Note: the "Basic" cals can be viewed by selecting Basic from the drop down box in the Navigator.

Once again thanks Paul and the others involved in the project for us 98 guys.

Also we will only be able to veiw the bin right? No bootloaders yet to actually program the PCM?

That is right, the bootloaders won't be ready by May 31.

This sounds excellent. I'm glad that the '98 support is shoring up, as well. Like Steve, it doesn't affect me either, but it's great for the guys that are depending upon it.

Many props for the calibration links in the editor, and the one-click feature will be VERY handy.

Is this like a batch import of all the changes from one modded file to a like OS non-modded file? If so, thats great.

Sort of, but its a manual process not an automated batch process.
The list of differences between calibrations now has a "hotlink" option next to each difference. Just click the hotlink to update the current calibration with the same data as the alternate calibration.

    V7.2.3 is done!

It should be posted sometime during May 31, 2005 US time - probably later rather than sooner - some testing has yet to be completed).
V7.2.3 will be a pre-release version which will include about 100 (of around 300) calibrations for 97Y, 98F and 98Y.

    Regards
    Paul
