    Default Locking Allison TCM

Why does locking the (5-speed) Allison TCM come up with a warning sayinf it should be done on the bench and can be harmfull to the controller? Is it the same reason you said the LBZ and LS1 ECM's can be dangerous to lock?

It all comes down to what part of the flash we need to erase/program as to how 'risky' the process is.
The last thing you want is your $10 iPod adaptor interrupting the locking session on an Allison TCM, if it did, it is a 50% chance you could not recover the TCM.

    Cheers,
    Ross

So does that mean that if there are no aftermarket devices in the truck, or if the locking is done on the bench, there is minimal risk of making the TCM braindead?
