Thread: New 2007 Z06 calibration

  1. #1

    Default New 2007 Z06 calibration

My Z has been in the shop a couple of times with a P0171 DTC (Fuel Trim System Lean bank 1). My (clever) tech figured out this was due to bent pins on the under hood fuse block connector that supplies bank 1 coil pack power; that bank was actually running very rich. Apparently my car was one of four that the boys back at the plant were trying to figure out (turns out my tech is a hero for solving two or more of them!)

Anyway, I was poking around on http://calid.gm.com/ and noticed this: "New calibration with diagnostic enhancements for DTCs P0171, and P0174." (OS: 12614676) The [dealer] flashed my car with this today (after installing a new bank 1 [cat] and muffler -- the old one was full of pieces of the "compromised" cat). It looks like in addition to whatever diagnostic related changes were made, they also made minor tweaks to B4001 (Injector Flow Base) and B1213 (Injector Flow Modifier IAT).

This IAT injector flow modifier should be helpful to correct for any drift of AFRs with temperature - just like in our LS1 custom OS. Has anyone used it like this?

i'm thinking the IAT based IFR modifier is to account for hot fuel changing density, thus mass delivered.

    Leres,
If you have the numerical IFB table could you post it?
    Thanks
    Joe

Or better still could you upload your file to:

How did you load that new OS? Did you use a TECH 2??

EDIT!!! I see they (the dealer reflashed it)

There are quite a few GM updates for the 06' OS ending in 732. I just updated two today for the same. It also addresses a battery drain issue that is a pain in the rear.

But actually the word "dealer" was missing from one sentence in my post which probably confused you. I fixed that.

Sorry I missed this post until now; I mailed the tune a few minutes ago so hopefully it'll get uploaded soon.

Thanks for the file. It would seem that the new IFB values would pull fuel and require an MAF adjustment, but the new file leaves the MAF values the same? I'd be interested in how the new changes work in a factory ZO6 LS7, before I mess with mine. My trims are really good but I did have to lower the LS7 MAF values with the old LS7 IFB #'s.
Howard, think you might try it?

    Joe,

Unfortunately, ever time we have a stock ZO6 in the shop its getting some kind of modification that alters the MAF tables. So to see what this effects on a stone stocker won't happen too soon.

I think that new cal file also addresses a cat code so maybe taking some fuel might be addressing this.

Also, the new IFB curve from 400kpa up fits nicely into the IFR calculator. The new one doesn't. I may try it for kicks, anyway.
Howard, when you get in a stocker why not plug in the new file and see what it does to the trims? It may be helpful for your work on these cars.
