    Besides just the SD part, what else does a custom OS get me?
    2 biggest things are fully functional high and low spark tables while in SD. And the ability to run what ever AFR you want (think lean cruise ) with table B3647 (AFR based on rpm and MAP). I love it!

    Going to have to save up and get the upgrade afterall

    thx

    Although really the only time I put her in cruise now is to goto the track and home again. She is living a life of luxury in the garage between shows and the strip.

    Unless for some reason you only have a V1 personally edition, there is no cost to upgrade to a custom OS. You just have to do it

    V1 Personal -> V1 Commercial is only $50...

    And as KB said, the COS is free.

    Also, if you have a large overlap cam that makes little vacuum, COS5 gives you a TP vs RPM VE table that you can enable at any RPM... just in case you need a large cam.

    Heh, I was just planning on taking the tr 232/235 Trak cam and put it into my SS. Had all kinds of vacuum problems. Looks like this will fix it.

    232/235 cam is nowhere near big enough to need alpha-n, you can tune it just fine with SD or MAF.

    Absolutely correct. I have a 232/236 cam and it runs just fine in SD OL. I'm not sure about idle quality if you run the mass air sensor-- sometimes reversion with this type of cam is sufficient to disturb flow readings, which can cause inconsistent idle qualities. For what it's worth, running in OL SD, I can drive the car in 6th gear at 1000 rpm with the stock 3.42 rear axle.
