Default Scan Data vs Tune maps? HELP

    Hi all,

A few issues im having on trying to tune 2 different LS engines are as follows...

    1. Logged data with scanner never seems to be accurate with vehicle conditions. example.... Load tested vehicle on dyno to measure afr, on the ve table im viewing the load never exceeds 20 kpa on the table.

    2. IPWV table shows the vehicle to be running at 4.5 volts at all times. The map side of this table changes but the voltage scale is constant at 4.5. On previous vehicle it was fixed at 7.5 volts.

    3. Measured 140kpa on dyno and 20 kpa measured on logged data.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

Chris, sound like you need to change the unit of meause in the scan tool. Press F8 or click the PID tab. Then right click on the PID in question, and change it form Imperal to Metric. Then it will track in metric in the tune.

Ive tried both ways, logging in Metric and Imperial. Either way ive made sure what im logging and what im viewing are in the same units of measure. That doesnt explain the low voltages readings its using in the injector tables though...

Thanks for the input though. Any other ideas?

Im glad im not alone. Im thinking about purchasing a new lap top thinking that might be the issue. But if I have a software problem that would be a worthless purchase at this point. Granted the tune is no where near close that is posted but I am guessing when it comes to the tune since the logged data is not correct with actual tables used.

    From scantool, do these steps:
    1. set Edit->Properties->Options->Preferred Unit System to Metric; click OK.
    2. from PIDs F8 tab, right click on MAP, select Metric.
    3. from Data F9 tab, verify MAP has units kPa.

Exit scantool, restart scantool, verify step 3.

Ya, something dosen't look right. Do you have the most current software from here?

Also, are you using a V1 or V2? If you have a V2, make sure you have that latest software and also it is important you upgrade the firm ware in the V2 unit it's self. But some thing is wrong with your MAP reading.

Yep, something is weird, your SPARKADV is around -35* to -40*...

Did you enter the correct VIN/OS and PCm type...?
If using V1, are you blackbox logging...?

    Are you running boost...?
Has the MAP sensor been tested...?
